Made for a TU-16a
Built by the Porthladd Yng Nghwm Dooeyeye Harbor Board as their number one. The harbor board had no money for a proper locomotive so asked the Bryn Bach Light Railway out of spare parts from the port including an old flatbed, oil drum, spare lister engine from a dock crane, scrap wood, sheet metal, and a pressured air whistle and a few other small parts. The engine was finished by August 1935 and was quickly nicknamed Pat. The little engine seemed to be popular amongst both humans and animals, with Pat having a seeming affinity for befriending seagulls, quickly keeping one as a pet and naming it Nick.
Pat lasted until the railway's closure on the 15th of September 1962. Thankfully Pat was preserved and now works as a shunting engine at Porthladd Yng Nghwm Dooeyeye (nicknamed The Port by everyone so much that the station sign says The Port) on The Bryn Bach Steam Railway.
He is planned to go in for an overhaul in mid 2026
