This is a hood and filter holder for the DYS 3-axis SMART GoPro gimbal.
It was designed specifically for the Formatt Hitech GoPro Filters: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1032721-REG/hitech_htgpnd0_6kit5_0_6_neutral_density_filter.html
Each filter is about 2$, so I use them to both protect the lens and reduce the shutter speed of the GoPro, for smoother video. When the filter gets scratched or dull, I just throw it away and put a new one. The part is designed for easy filter swap in
