The Eveready 6V Flashlight costs $5. It comes with a very bright LED, a nice lens, and with "no disassembly" required access to solder on your own power leads. It could easily be the basis for a desklamp, a bike light, super cheap fog lights ... whatever. And because it's a 6V light, you can even power it from USB (although to get full power you'd need to boost it from USB's 5V to 6V).
