ἰχθύς (ichthys, fish)

At it's root, it's simply a fish shape with the Greek word for fish written inside. However, for Christians this has added meaning because it represents perhaps the first creed (statement of faith) of the Christian church. Many of the apostles were fishermen, and ΙΧΘΥΣ stands for:
Ἰησοῦς (Jesus)
χριστός (Christ)
Θεοῦ (God's)
Ὑιός (Son)
Σωτήρ (Savior)
