This is a lightweight pixel sphere made with aluminum extrusions and printed parts. The Pixel clip holds a standard 12MM bullet pixel.
Materials:
* Bullet Pixels - can use 64 for 8 per rib or 56 for 7 per rib
* 2 x 6 foot 1/4" x 1/8" aluminum extrusion - can be sourced from https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/127/3989
Cut the extrusions in at 1/4" and 1/2" from the half way point (So you will end up with 4 rods of slightly different lengths)
Use a dremel or notching tool to create a notch 1/4" inch from the end of the rod. You can use the printed part as a template.
On the other end of the rod, cut another notch on the opposite side from the first notch.
Use a ring roller (or hand bend using a 5 gallon home depot bucket)
Slide the pixel clips on and then insert the extrusions into the mounting bracket.
Use the 2 locking clips to lock the extrusions into place.
