Steam Engine Headlamp

I wanted a headlamp for my 7 1/4 gauge live steam loco. It looked a real problem to make this shape, so I designed and printed this one. So far it has not melted with the heat from the chimney. I made it in PLA.

I painted it with red oxide primer which sands down easily, then gloss painted. This gets rid of any printing lines.

The lens is made from a bit of perspex, roughly sanded on the inside to give a 'frosted' look.
It could be printed with a translucent PLA.
