I'm in the process of converting my MakerGear M2 to a twin-extrusion setup as developed by Tim Edwards:

The factory printed motor mount is somewhat wider than the motor itself so you lose a bit of travel in the X-axis. MakerGear has a new all-metal motor mount which is REALLY nice, but it moves the wiring to the side you you give up even more X (only an issue in the twin-configuration).
