My massively overbuilt printer

This is a printer I designed back in 2011 (I was 18 at the time). It uses Linistepper motor drives and Mach3 to control everything. I designed everything in solidworks but I over estimated the forces involved which resulted in what is probably the most unnecessarily substantial printer ever made. A nice side effect of this how ever is being able to print up to 200mm/s with out any noticeable loss in finish.
