Clean drinking water is a problem in many regions. The purpose of this device is to float on the surface of the water and collect the evaporated water, which would then be suitable for human consumption. The top cone section absorbs heat from the sun (that's why I printed it in black), and transfers this heat to the air captured between the structure and the water, as well as directly to the water itself.
