This platform is used when jogging the Z-Axis down to rest on something, in this case a specific lightweight platform. It's useful for alleviating stress on the Z-Axis rods when servicing or scraping the print bed. This allows you to put A LOT more force down so be mindful of the stresses introduced to the machine parts as to not damage or bend anything. I was using a block of wood prior but figured I'd create something lighter that serves this specific purpose.
