3D Print of 140 mm Standard Sound of Night

The sound of night to me, always signified the sounds you hear as night is encroaching. The insects that come alive after dusk has fallen, the quiet sound of a waterbird as it wings over a still lake. That still, fragile quiet that has you talking in whispered tones as the sunset fades from the bright yellows and reds to the more subdued darker tones as it approaches night. That's what I tried to embody with the palette choice. The darker brown-orange of the inner skirt being overlaid by the outer skirt fading from the pink to dark purple tones. I also loved the motion of the dancer in the sculpt, and it took me a while to figure out that it looks like she's landing and moving to a pirouette, so I thought the splash in the water would be a good way to showcase that. It was a true joy to paint.
