3D Print of Beowulf A story of Courage, 75mm Master

"Beowulf, The Tragedy of Courage" was my model of choice, the concept of courage and this depiction (and also my wife and daughters picked it too). Beowulf is THE classic warrior-Viking-king and he is fighting a dragon! This dragon part made me choose my colour pallet. I tried a huge contrast of bright light. The shadows on the left, and light of dragon fire on the right. This is the first time I decided to participate in an on-line competition, so I thought "A Story of Courage" was fitting as well. It was one of the first times I planned my painting more precisely. I started with a lot of airbrush of the rock, and after that I followed up with brush. Also I resisted to clue in on straight away (something I do too often). The shadow of the shield was a great tip I got, and it worked very well with the bright. I had a great time painting Beowulf, it came out pretty close to what I envisioned. For me personally this model represent growth also, I learned a lot during this contest.
