sata case printable on rep 2

I love the design that the original was and did not feel as though i wanted to change anything. When i tried to print one though, well, that was a different story altogether. The unit is to tall for the makerbot rep 2 to create in a fashion that will not take more support that the object itself. I know because I laid it flat and printed one. =( took a half hour to break all the supports out...... Well what to do......
