This is a well thought out design for a compartmentalized pen holder. I prefer for pens to sit in an orderly fashion and be easily accessible so this is my solution. The holes are all 1.2 cm in diameter, which is the width of the thickest pen I own. The depth of the holes takes into account the mean length of an assortment of pens and mechanical pencils and their weight distribution. The edges are chamfered for aesthetics. It aims to be a minimal and functional desk accessory.
