A common problem with HP's Elitebook 2710p, 2730p and 2740p laptops is that they use an unpopular microSATA 1.8'' hard drive standard which makes them harder to upgrade. The best solution is to use an mSATA SSD with an inexpensive chinese mSATA-to-MicroSATA adapter, but there is no way to secure the drive+adapter assembly to the laptop's hard disk bay.
