Kite string can be convenient for tying heirloom tomato plants to a trellis but when you have a bunch of plants making all those knots for each tie up gets tedious and time consuming working with thin string and keeping tension while making the knots. This clip is designed so that all you need to do is wrap the string around the plant then take the two ends and wrap them around the clip a couple times. It has saved me time and frees me up to give the rest of my garden more attention.
