I like flat cat5 cables for when I travel. They save a lot of space over conventional cables. And I have a couple from some D-Link IP cameras that are "free" since i used other cables for those cameras.
On our last trip I thought there has to be a neater way to stow this cable so I don't risk breaking the spring tabs when I'm pulling it out of my luggage. This is similar to how a retractable cable works, but it's manual. just wrap it around and plug in your RJ45s, Hope this helps you out.
