I have used additional fan mounts on the X-carriage since I do not use them.

18 mm capacitive sensor.
I use Marlin Kimbra development version, added firmware as a zip file.
I can publish the firmware if needed.
You need to make a voltage divider to use the sensor.
I connected sensor to Zmin
