Pebble Watch Strap - Interconnected Links

I've been wearing my Pebble watch with the Snap Link Watchband. The design by mingofmongo is great, However, after using this watchband for several months, I noticed two problems, with the Snap Link design: a)The watchband is not very flexible because the links are pressed together, and b) after several months of use the spikes connecting the links become weaker and occasionally the links are disconnected.
