Cavalieri's Principle - Objects with Common Base Area

Cavalieri's Principle says that 3-dimensional objects with the same base area and same height will have the same volume. These four objects, a circular cylinder, an elliptical cylinder, a square prism, and a triangular prism all have the same base area and the same height.

Students can use sand (or rice, or water) to verify that all four objects have the same volume.
