This is a magnetic, self-assembling Dodecahedron sphere. It's built up around 0.375x0.1875in (3/8x3/16in) radially aligned magnetic cylinders. You can find them at K&J Magnetics. (Like so: https://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=D36DIA)
Each part has 5 snap-inserts which hold the magnet in place and allow it to spin freely around its axis. This means that each magnet will self align to its adjacent magnet and the sphere can self assemble itself when parts are close.
