Since honeycomb shapes are cool, I figured I'd try my own variant since it's simple enough.
This hexamesh I made in Blender (v2.76b) uses a path and modifiers in additon to the base meshes. One array modifier should automatically adjust to the path. The other one adjusts the overall height of the final mesh. Adjust depth using the solidify modifier, and feel free to edit the path for your own unique shapes. (It can get fairly weird by using radius and tilt on the bezier handles for the path.
