Paper tube pencil holder base

For better or worse, we live in a throw-away society. Here's hoping that we can re-purpose at least a handful of paper towel tubes that would otherwise be discarded.

Simply cut the paper towel tube into 3 close-to-equal pieces, staple both ends together and then slip into this base for a nice solid DIY pen holder... and maybe a great project for the kids.

It'll probably work with toilet paper roll tubes as well so long as they are 42.4mm (plus or minus a millimeter) in diameter.
