18650 Battery Holder Module

Like my AA battery compartment, this is my take on a 18650 cell holder, specifically designed to be integrated into a more complex enclosure. For this reason, the model consists of a combination of positive and negative parts, which allows easily merging it into an enclosure model using boolean operations in CAD. When integrating in an enclosure it is possible to completely omit the middle positive part of the holder model and only include the ends, supported by the rest of the enclosure instead. For securely retaining the battery, as well as protecting the battery terminals from being accidentally touched by any loose wires while on the workbench, the holder includes slots for a pair of retaining clips. When integrated you will likely have to solder wires to the contacts before inserting them into the holder. The openings are confirmed to be big enough to accept 22 AWG solid core wires soldered flush to the contact on the back side. The holder is designed for this size of battery cont
