Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum is the Smithsonian's design museum, dedicated to educating, inspiring, and empowering people through design. On 3D Printing Day, Cooper-Hewitt worked with GE's engineer Justin Gambone to design the "Matchsafe."

Hold a piece of design history in your hands with this 3D-printed replica of the "Serpent and Fruit" match case from 1900. This object is from Cooper-Hewitt's collection of more than 4,000 unique and rare matchsafes.
