NES "Dogbone" Controller Pivot (3rd Party/Fake)

Out on many places like eBay, you can purchase a very cheap replacement controller for your NES which is shaped like the 2nd generation "dogbone" controller for the NES. Unlike the official NES dogbone controller, the third party ones (such as the Tomee controller I have here) do not have a pivot for the D-Pad to rock on physically preventing opposite directions from being pressed at the same time.
