The existing steel plate motor mount on my Prusa i3 Steel had the motor shaft about 25mm in front of the rear steel pate. As a result I lost about 25 - 30mm of usable print area.
This mount is designed to replace the two steel plates provided. The 3mm screws use the existing bracket mount holes in the rear plate and the motor sits flush against the inside of the rear plate.
