A simple way to make low cost stereo picture pairs is combining two digital compact cameras with a distance between the lenses of about 6,5 cm, which is the average distance between human eyes. When using two compact cameras, the distance between the lenses is mostly over 6,5 cm. However, a larger distance enhances the three dimensional effect. So we can live with it.
