This is a small academic project for my university coursework, designed to improve solar panel efficiency using a Solar Position Algorithm (SPA)-based tracking system. Unlike conventional LDR-based trackers, this system calculates the sun's position mathematically, ensuring accurate tracking regardless of weather conditions. The system, while utilizing a dual-axis tracking mechanism, has certain limitations. The movement range is restricted to 180 degrees per axis, meaning it can only rotate within a fixed range and may not fully track the sun in extreme latitudes or during certain seasons. Additionally, the system relies entirely on precise date, time, and location data, making it dependent on accurate input values for optimal performance. Unlike sensor-based trackers that dynamically adjust based on sunlight intensity, this approach does not account for unexpected obstructions or environmental factors like heavy cloud cover. Despite these constraints, it provides a highly efficient and reliable alternative to traditional solar tracking methods. Hope you like it!
