A dial indicator is a far better solution to measuring how flat the bed is with respect to the nozzle than using a sheet of paper. A sheet of paper will only give an indication of how far from the bed the nozzle is at discrete points, it is time consuming, and not very repeatable. By switching over to using a dial indicator you will be able to quickly and accurately get your print bed as level as possible.
