This is an example of an 'impossible' dovetail on a hexagonal shaft that can be printed out in two parts and assembled. It's best if you print them in two different colors!

A 0.1mm tolerance gap was included to allow for a smoother fit straight off the printer.

An example is printing out. when done, photos will be added!

Also, thinking about making this a customizable manipulative using OpenSCAD, so check back soon...
