I resized the design to be a bit smaller, to nicely fit 3"x4" custom name tags. I also changed the colors and stroke in the illustrator file to match TechShop's laser cutter setting.

I cut it on 1/8" (3mm) birch plywood. I put the wood back through the laser cutter a second time to etch on the inside of the top as well. I then sanded it and glued it together. To keep the box closed, I put elastic through the holes and hand-stitched the end of the elastic together.
