There is the opened and the closed Backplate for The GoPro Hero 3 Cases.

I got two versions of it :

- With hinge stick
- Without hinge stick ( recommended )

I would not use the closed one for underwater filming. For sure you will need a sealing, but even then there is no guarantee for a total waterproof design.

There are also a few holes on each side, for the microphones.

I'm still at work, to find out the best scale. But by the Dimensions it fits well.
