If you have watched David Windestal build his Tricopter scratch build V2.6HV at flitetest, you will have noticed the battery holder he created using laser cut 1/16" pinewood pieces. He is awesome.
Since I don't have a laser cutter, I just designed the replacement parts to be printed in plastic. I plan to use a 1/8" pinewood rectangular plank for my tricopter as it is very inexpensive compared to printing it out whole. Wire mount point might be on the bottom of the pinewood.
