I did a torture test on this:

1. Clamped the clip into a vice attached to my drill press
2. Printed a PLUS sign that fits onto my drill press.
3. Turned drill press on
4. Allowed the plus sign to hit the clip which moves it back and forth
5. 3 minutes later the clip retained its shape but the impact damaged the corners.

3 minutes x 620 rpm x 4 arms = 7 440 theoretical OPEN/CLOSE cycles.
