I brought a Hakko FR-300 desoldering gun.
It came with a heat shroud for the case and a bent metal standoff for the tip designed to work with the gun on its side (as you can see in one of the pictures above).
The problem is that the sides of the gun is sculpted such that the side is domed out a bit, and the weight is centered on this dome. This effectively turns the gun into an unwieldy and dangerous fidget spinner. The tip standoff is more of a suggestion and the slightest touch sends th
