There are a lot of lipo guards out there ... I dunno, most seemed to rely on the elasticity of solid TPU to absorb all the impact. This sorta struck me as heavy and limited in its ability to actually protect the battery from blunt impacts like bottoming out. The "crumple zone" was just the TPU itself. This is designed to (hopefully) really absorb impact with sort of crumple zones built out of arms of flexible filament. In theory this should be lighter and hopefully protect better. I printed
