Ribbon Bookend

A design which was originally produced for a friend of mine. I wanted to make a bookend like none I had ever seen before. It works quite well, but it requires a grippy coating on the bottom surfaces. I use a few coats of a spray-on rubber product, and it ends up working quite well. It works best with heavy books resting on the bookend itself to help maximize friction.
