A 250-size quadcopter designed for learning to fly line of sight acro and perform tricks like flips and rolls. Specific design & build features include:
- Robust 5mm top and bottom plates, with extra reinforcement on the base.
- Arms also designed to be more robust by adding extra thickness underneath.
- Side supports add strength and stiffness to the frame.
- Replacing an arm requires the removal of only 3 bolts for ease and speed.
- Electronics can be installed such that no re-soldering is required when replacing frame parts
I'd suggest using bright colors for the arms and printing two arms in each color, preferably the color of your props for ease of orientation.
While this quad isn't crash proof, I've crashed it more times without breaking the frame than most of the other 250-size quads I've 3d printed. And when I have crashed and broken something it's always been an arm, which is fairly quick and easy to replace without dismantling the whole quad.
