Plant stake mount

I am growing plants over a period of weeks to examine the effect of light duration on the rate of plant growth. To do this, I have 8 lima bean plants for each target duration. To help them grow straight and make them easy to measure, I want to place a stake next to each, and a ruler running up the stake. To make it easy to connect a 1x2 board to the stakes and the stakes to the rulers, I designed and printed the mount. The design has:
