Door Frame Anchor for IKEA Patrull Safety Gate

We have been using this gate for many years, and the main problem with the design is that it's unstable while open and gets unlodged easily. This hack keeps the upper support in place while the gate is open. It also gives better stability while closed, of course, we've had a few accidents with climbing kids.

You have to sacrifice the finish of your door frame, but usually the gate will be in use for some years, so it might be worth the small task of patching and painting when the gate is no
