This is a variation/remix of the litho lamp:

The major difference is that I wanted one that used a wall powered incandescent lightbulb with a inline switch like those found in a classic night light and often used in light-up things like holiday decorations, etc. They have a snap in base that fits in a hole about 1 inch in diameter (I had to make it slightly bigger).
