When having a small lathe, chips quite often fly into the morse taper of the tailstock causing a bad fit of tools. Leaving something like a drill-chuck is no option, because it takes too much room. A small dead center is short, but it is a little bit on the dangerous side ;-)
To get rid of that problem, I made a small plug with a fraction of a MT2 taper. With my print, it sits firmly enough to not fall out, but is yet easy to remove.
