I grabbed a RPI3 to run OctoPrint and needed a display to use it standalone. I wanted a great looking case and the FLIRC was a must. Problem is that the FLIRC only supported access to the GPIO via a ribbon underneath. this wasn't ideal as I wanted a more flush look without exposed cables. Under photos In order from right to left is the process I took to get it done.
Note: Hand tools are needed. I used a center punch, drill, multi-tool & hand file to make the rectangular hole in the FLIRC case
