***Update:*** having to keep track of a silly little part is pretty bothersome, and instead of using the front panel controls, what about just selecting a GCode file and moving the printer to the right spot? With that in mind I added "SHIPPING.gcode" which will move the head to the right location, turn heaters off, and the fan up to high.
