First, MAJOR MAJOR credit goes to the original creator of this Y Belt Tensioner. One of the best tensioners I've used. Nice looking and doesn't take a lot of space. However, it doesn't have the ability to adjust the LEFT/RIGHT position of the belt to align with the plate, which I desparately needed in order to solve my belt scraping problem. So this is a quick and easy solution and you don't need to modify anything.
