This is a probing system, I use it to auto level my bed using some aluminum tape that I bought at walmart attached to the base the aluminum foil has a ground connector to it and the top lock has 4 screws which run the positive. These are wired to the z min endstop and the usezendstopasprobe setting in marlin is enabled along with autobilinearleveling. I then wrap rubber bands around the top lock and around the side hooks. I have obtained about a .0138 accuracy for repeatability tests over 7 diff
