This is a belt holder for mounting a 6mm-wide timing belt to a 20mm-wide aluminum extrusion rail. Fastens to the rail with an M5 bolt and nut. Belt is fed through the bottom of the mount, back out the front, and clamped by two M3 screws.
Many laser engraver kits use this sort of drive mechanism and they recommend clamping the belt into the rail directly with a screw. This causes uneven tension and unnecessary friction. This clamp allows the belt to be mounted parallel to the direction of move
