Our little store-room needed a curtain. This had to be attached in between the two sides of the door frame.
As rod I used a aluminium tube (15 mm diameter) and so I made this little holder. I added the ring as a cover that also locks the tube in postion.

Up to 16 mm tubes should fit - just scale it for thicker rods as broomsticks.
