Ultimaker2 HotBed (Thermal-Barrier)

I have designed these simple parts for testing directly on the heated print bed. I want to find out and change the following:

* Will it fit? ... because I have not printed it yet :-)
...YES: Front = 231mm / Left & Right = 206mm

* Can I achieve a visual improvement with this? (... because I hate this huge air gap between support plate and print bed)
